in your browser. This does not.

The calculators never send anything anywhere. This page is the exception, and it is the only one in the cross-border section — so it is worth being precise about what leaves and what does not.

What gets sent

  • Your email address, and nothing else.
  • Which page you subscribed from — this one — so we know which tool earned it.
  • The date you confirmed, which is the record of your consent.

What does not

  • Any number you typed into any calculator on this site. Not your corpus, not your landing date, not a balance, not a rate.
  • Your name, phone number, address, country of residence or citizenship.
  • Anything about which pages you looked at before this one.
  • Any identifier that would let us recognise you across sites.
Enforced, not promisedThere is no code path from a calculator's stored state to this form. The form takes one field, and that field is an email address. If you want a scenario to travel, a screenshot is still the only way — which is the same answer this site has always given.

Subscribe

Occasional writing on the residency clock, the reporting regimes, and the parts of this that move when a Budget or a Finance Act moves. Nothing is sent until you confirm from your inbox, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe.

The form appears once you tick the box. Nothing on this page is pre-filled from any calculator, and nothing is sent until you submit an address and then confirm it from your inbox. What we hold, and for how long.

Getting it back, or getting rid of it

Unsubscribe removes you from the list. Erasure removes the record entirely, and you can ask for it at any time without giving a reason — the templates on the grievance page are pre-written for both the Indian and the US-state routes, and they open your own mail client rather than another form on this site.
