Disclaimer
KitnaKaafi is an illustrative educational calculator. It is not investment advice, not a recommendation, not a solicitation, and not a substitute for guidance from a licensed professional.
Calculator, not advisory
Every screen on this site — the flagship in-hand projector, the per-instrument calculators (SIP, Lumpsum, FD, PPF, EPF, NPS, SWP, Home Loan EMI, Retirement Gap), and the Kaafi Score dashboard — answers a what-if question about publicly documented formulas and rates. It does not know you, your risk tolerance, your dependents, your existing portfolio, or your goals. It cannot tell you what to buy or sell.
We are not a SEBI-registered adviser
KitnaKaafi is not registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India as an investment adviser, research analyst, or portfolio manager. For personalised guidance on your specific situation, please consult a SEBI-registered investment adviser before making a decision.
We are not a US-registered adviser or tax preparer
The cross-border calculators are written for people living in the United States, so the US position has to be stated as plainly as the Indian one — and it sits beside it, not in place of it. KitnaKaafi is not registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission or with any US state securities regulator as an investment adviser. It does not provide investment advice to US persons, does not recommend securities, does not manage assets, takes custody of nothing, and executes nothing.
It is also not a tax preparer. Nothing here is a tax opinion or a return position, and no figure these calculators produce has been reviewed or signed by anyone licensed to do so. For a US tax position, a licensed CPA or enrolled agent; for investment advice, a registered investment adviser. Using the tools creates no adviser–client or accountant–client relationship in either country.
The full position across both jurisdictions, including what the cross-border models deliberately leave out, is on the cross-border disclosure page.
Named products in the encyclopedia
The encyclopedia describes instrument categories (Fixed Deposits, Public Provident Fund, Employees' Provident Fund, National Pension System, InvIT / REIT, arbitrage funds, and so on). It names industry-standard concepts and, where necessary, issuers (RBI, PFRDA, EPFO, NHAI/PFC/REC for legacy tax-free bonds) for clarity — not as a recommendation of any specific issue, scheme, or fund.
Assumed rates and their volatility
Default rates in each calculator (FD 8%, PPF 7.1%, EPF 8.25%, etc.) are illustrative and may not match today's administered or market rate. Government-set rates (PPF, EPF, SCSS, NPS coupon) are reviewed quarterly or annually by their respective authorities. Market-linked returns (equity, hybrid, debt MFs) are inherently uncertain — the Site's default assumptions are conservative long-run averages, not forecasts.
Past performance is not indicative of future results
Where the Site quotes historical market behaviour or long-run averages, this is provided as context, not as a promise. Real market paths have down years, and a portfolio drawn through one can perform materially worse than the smoothed projections shown here. This is the specific risk called sequence of returns — read more here.
Tax law changes
Indian tax law changes annually via the Union Budget and periodically via notifications and circulars. The Site's tax logic is updated as we become aware of changes but there is no guarantee it reflects the very latest. For a real decision, consult a Chartered Accountant.
AI-generated explanations
The Site may offer an optional AI feature that explains a projection in plain words. Anything it produces isillustrative, may be inaccurate, and is not investment advice — a language model can misstate a rule or misapply it to your situation. Treat it as a reading aid over numbers the calculators compute, verify it against those numbers, and consult a SEBI-registered investment adviser before making a decision.
No liability
Decisions made purely on the basis of calculator output are your own. The operator disclaims liability for such decisions to the fullest extent permitted by Indian law. See Terms of use for the full limitation clause.
Grievances
If you believe any specific number on this Site is materially incorrect, or if you have a concern about the disclaimer's scope, please follow the three-tier redressal process on the grievance page. Bugs get fixed; complaints get addressed within statutory windows.
