Disclosure

Both jurisdictions · SEBI (India) · US federal and state securities law

The cross-border tools address people in two countries at once, which means two sets of rules apply to what this site may say. This page states what it is, and — more usefully — what it is not.

Who operates this

KitnaKaafi is operated by an individual in Bengaluru, India, not by an incorporated entity. Contact: nitin.goswami@gmail.com. The same person is the grievance officer named on the grievance page.

In India

KitnaKaafi is not registered with SEBI as an investment adviser or as a research analyst, and does not hold itself out as either. Everything on the site is an illustrative calculator: a mechanical consequence of assumptions you set, shown alongside the working. No fund, bank, broker, asset manager, platform or product is named anywhere on the site, including in examples. Nothing is a recommendation, a ranking or a suitability assessment, and none of it is personalised to you.

For advice on your situation, a SEBI-registered investment adviser. For a tax position, a chartered accountant.

In the United States

KitnaKaafi is not registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission or with any state securities regulator as an investment adviser, and does not provide investment advice to US persons. It does not recommend securities, does not manage assets, does not take custody of anything, and does not execute transactions.

It is also not a tax preparer. Nothing here is a tax opinion or a return position, and no figure produced by these calculators has been reviewed or signed by anyone licensed to do so. For a US tax position, a licensed CPA or enrolled agent. For investment advice, a registered investment adviser.

The US disclosures on this page sit beside the Indian ones, not in place of them. Both apply to every page of this site.

What the numbers are, precisely

Every figure is computed from assumptions you set, using published statutory rules that are cited in each calculator's show the working fold. Those folds also carry the caveats that cut against the number above them — deliberately, because a figure without its caveats is worse than no figure.

Specific and material limits, all stated on the screens themselves: US state income tax is not modelled anywhere. Foreign tax credit relief is modelled generously, so the benefit of the residency window is if anything overstated. Currency conversion uses a rate you set, not a live feed. Tax rules in both countries change annually, and a calculator dated to one year gives a wrong answer for another.

No relationship is created

Using these calculators, or subscribing to the briefing, does not create an adviser–client, accountant–client or attorney–client relationship of any kind, in either country.

Where this sits

This page is specific to the cross-border section. The site-wide disclaimer, terms and privacy notice apply to it as well as to everything else.
